Extra Curricular activities and Careers
Often a visit or activity, which gives students the opportunity to widen their horizons and develop closer relationships
with each other and with their teachers, has a direct relevance to lessons and assignments in college. Southfield Technology College
aims to help children develop talents, aptitudes and interests outside the main timetable.

A number of subject departments run additional activities
eg Maths Challenge.
We are now working hard to build a tradition of excellence
in Music and Drama and pantomimes, plays and musical concerts
are now established on the calendar. Peripatetic lessons
are available to pupils wishing to learn an instrument.
Duke of Edinburgh Award open to year 9 from January,
after school (see Mrs McNallie for details). For out of
school trips, the college hires a minibus or coach equipped
with front facing seats and seatbelts.
